Comfrey root has been used by humans for many centuries as an essential in their first aid kits.  The plant contains rosmarinic acid which relieves pain and inflammation, and allantoin which helps regenerate skin cells, thereby repairing tissue. The comfrey plant has been known colloquially as "knitbone" and said to heal breaks and fractures.  That isn't the purpose of this soap: Comfrey Root soap is designed for skindeep issues!

The powder is also slightly rough to help remove dead skin, clean your pores and allow the healing of the essential oils to do their job.
